Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a course designed for those who are interested in pursuing their career in teaching and its related fields.

B.Ed. is a professional course that helps learners to develop teaching skills. Our College Code is 234 and B.ED. is a 2 year full time course with yearly examinations. NCTE is the statuary body which regulates courses for teaching in India. This course prepares prospective teachers to understand the psychological and sociological aspects of the child’s development and also understand his behavior under different conditions. The course work combined with rigorous practice of teaching prepares teacher trainees to master the art of teaching and the ability to deal with students.

ABOUT NCTE

The National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986 and the Programme of Action thereunder, envisaged a National Council for Teacher Education with statutory status and necessary resources as a first step for overhauling the system of teacher education. The National Council for Teacher Education as a statutory body came into existence in pursuance of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (No. 73 of 1993) on the 17th August,1995.

The main objective of the NCTE is to achieve planned and coordinated development of the teacher education system throughout the country, the regulation and proper maintenance of Norms and Standards in the teacher education system and for matters connected therewith. The mandate given to the NCTE is very broad and covers the whole gamut of teacher education programmes including research and training of persons for equipping them to teach at pre-primary, primary, secondary and senior secondary stages in schools, and non-formal education, part-time education, adult education and distance (correspondence) education courses.

ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA

• Candidate should be a citizen of India.
• Candidates must have completed either a BA/B.Sc./B.Com./BCA/B.Sc. (Home Science)/BBM and/or a Master’s Degree in Commerce/Social Sciences/Humanities /Sciences (the relevant subject of Methodology) with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 55% in their B.E/B. Tech. with Science/Math as being one of the subject areas or an equivalent qualification.
• Candidates who belong to the SC/ST/OBC/PH categories, on the other hand, must have scored at least 40% in the qualifying exam.
• Candidates who have taken the qualifying exam for the final year exam (Bachelor or Higher Degree) are also eligible for the program. They must, however, submit the marks memo and pass the Certificate of Qualifying Exam at the time of Admission Counseling. They are not permitted to enter if this is not the case.

FEES STRUCTURE:

The Tuition Fees for 1st Year is ₹51,250/- and for 2nd Year is ₹30,000/-. The fees above do not include the exam fees and others fees.

CAREER PROSPECTS:

B.Ed. Graduates can apply for teaching positions in government or private schools and other disciplines and various other jobs that come with a variety of benefits. Candidates may also consider becoming a tutor for special education in addition to their regular school education, which is required by the majority of children these days. Job Aspirants can also work in any of the following positions that match their interests: Consultant, Principal, Teacher, Counselor, Content Writer, or Educational Researcher.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission forms can be downloaded from the college website bmbcollege.co.in or obtained from the office on all working days from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Forms can also be obtained through Registered Post with Separate Postage Charges.

Apart from qualifying the entrance test, the applicants must fulfil basic minimum eligibility requirements for appearing in the entrance test. Meritorious candidates will be invited to attend the counselling process, thus the admission procedure is based purely on merit basis. The selected candidates have to take admission by depositing required amount within the stipulated date failing which the seats will be allotted to the next meritorious candidates.
